We made our way today to Adamant, Vermont for the Black Fly Festival....for those of you who are not aware....these are tiny black flies of spring in Vermont....that have a harsh bite! Today Hillary's friend, Ava, joined us for the trip. Hillary was so excited to have her along! Hillary was in the Fashion Show this year as a Black Fly Fairy. Below was the poem I wrote to go along with her outfit....lol.
They even got to be in the parade! Hillary and Ava put smiles on for this and good wave for everyone along the way!
Such a great day....and wonderful weather!!!!

Poem:
Hillary
Harris came flying straight from a bog around Middle Tennessee; this little
Black Fly flew north to Sodom Pond to flee.
She sports
the strong black wings with a shimmer of glitter, for we all know black flies
can be a little bitter.
She has the
large black eyes so she can really see- right where to bite her victim- on bare
knee.
Oh, and
don’t bother with the net upon the face, this little fly can find you no matter
what the case!
With her
little wand in hand, she could cure any bite, but be careful what you wish for,
she can turn day into night!
With
today’s festival under hand, I knew my senses told me just the right place to land.
The Adamant
Store was such the perfect place to settle, it has a pond, a festival, and
today’s open kettle.
