Pilgrims

"I feel kind of like a pilgrim: exploring a new land, people, and community. I think we all have a little 'explorer' in us. However, most of us may not take those steps to actually experience it. It is a risk and often not exactly what we wanted or imagined- that is life. We do have 'hope'. Hope that all will go well.........and thus our journey has begun.

We made the trek to a place I have loved since I was a little girl. I can't really explain the love affair I have with the state, but it just is and has been for a very long time. We had flirted with the idea of moving for years.....and most people who know me, also know I love this little state: Vermont.

The bad part is I sacrificed the people in my life (we) I love so much: My parents and Gary's parents. We are trying to adjust, but understand that will also be a work in progress. Our visits must be frequent and often!!!!!!!!!

Christmas 2013, Gary had given me a writing journal and a book( a fictional story about Vermont). The journal was for our first year in the state. Today, I wrote my first entry here in the kitchen at 11pm on the wooden floor.

Our first day, Cooper had a baseball game, and he enjoyed himself! He had some great hits and plays-  and his team seems just wonderful!

Brock had a tour of the local middle school and was greeted by such friendly people and teachers. I think he really is enjoying the atmosphere of the community.

We settled in Southern Vermont: Ludlow. It is a ski town and we are located in the village on the outskirts of the mountain.

This is my first day here: 18 hours later, we enjoyed a tour of Ludlow and surrounding towns. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a place in Springfield called Hole in Hill, a pub-like atmosphere with great food!
