~Alumni Parade & Calvin Coolidge~

Well, today was a wonderful spring day! We started our morning by going to an Alumni Parade in Springfield with the Brown family. Hillary and Ava enjoyed the parade together, the clowns, and candy! Alumni parades are very common and create a sense of community as all the graduating classes come back each year to decorate a float and be together- pretty (wicked) idea (I'm incorporating the new word up here !) So, afterwards, Ava joined us to go to the Calvin Coolidge home place in Plymouth, Vermont. Such a beautiful area of countryside....right in the heart of these green mountains (Plymouth Notch). This weekend it is free admission across the state to any historic site as well as state park, so we took advantage of it.

Below are some pictures of our day!!!

Class of 1954- Famous landmarks were the theme this year.

The boys hated to get their picture made......they know it goes on this blog....lol :)

Inside the country store where we learned Calvin Coolidge liked to drink Moxie...so we got one...kind of like Root Beer or a Sarsaparilla.

Indoor wood shed due to harsh winters...

Also had a cheese making store and workplace
