Mark my words, and help me live up to my goal: I'm running the full marathon this spring....what? No time to prepare? nonsense. I 'm gonna go ahead and take off the following next work day; I'll need it. Mile 13.....I may hate myself, a lot. I've GOT to do this. I gave myself my word. It must happen and by this year. Music City Marathon. I'm relying on muscle memory of 2 years ago....here's hoping my muscle's remember! :)
So, I like this song today:
Yes, it's a fight song to me....lol and connects me to "Ville" ~ Nashville.

Oh, you think I know what this means...? Oh, heck naw. Just the fact that I feel pumped when I hear it.....kind of like rolling in my best friend's (Stephanie) car in high school with some 20 inch Pyle speakers pumping hard as we roll up to the street court. We were a minority, but there was a feelin' about that place that spoke to an energy I had that still surfaces today.....I'm that child.....that girl. Did you know I aspired to be the first white female rapper? It's true. Those beat boxing traits still come in handy......and those beats still surface.....My first concert: Salt -N-Peppa. Minority at TSU stadium.....loved every minute of it. I went with my mom's coworker, Vicky. At the time, my mother worked for the State of Tennessee with a great group of women, who listened incessantly to 107.5 only to win the contests the DJ's offered. Well, we won! I was going to my first concert. I went for my first night over at a friend's house I had never met: a culture I had never experienced. By doing this, I think we help our children stretch their outlooks and coping skills, well, that is my thoughts. I truly want my kids to step into the footprints of different people, learn of different cultures, travel, and see different ways of life. It is then they see struggles, understanding, grit, and a broader understanding of life. .....not to mention I think it prepares them for going to college or military or whatever happens around that young 18 years of age.
Cheers to LL Cool J, Easy E, Tupac, Kid Rock (he wasn't exactly country/pop then), Beastie Boys, Ice Cube,

Hopefully that beat within me will carry me through 26 grueling miles.....I know.... not that alone. I know.
Those stations that brought this to me during my teens:
92Q & 107.5 (Tookie Bird- Coyote McCloud, Ah, yes...the memories)
